Illicit smoking and drug use is a real
problem in enclosed public premises in terms of
health, safety, social behaviour and
regulation compliance, particular in
consideration of the introduction of the
'Ban on
Smoking' in July 2007 in the entire
UK.
In
preparation of the Ban, UK Hygiene has
launched its 2007 awareness campaign 'No
Smoking without Fire' which is aimed
towards the education and health & safety
sector. The objectives of the campaign are
to ensure organisations comply with the July
2007 "Smoking Ban" legislation and to ensure
cigarette and flame detectors are installed to assist in
enforcement.
